Mrs. Andrea Sandoval

Hi, my name is Andrea Sandoval. I have been teaching Physical Education for 16 years. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Then I continued my education at the University of North Texas and have a Master's degree in Education, and I have recently finished my coursework in Administration. I love getting kids excited about moving their bodies and making healthy choices. I love running and moving with my three kids in my spare time. 

Ms. Nayeli Melo

Hi! I’m Nayeli Melo, originally from beautiful Mexico City. I’ve had the privilege of working with students for 7 years now, it’s been such a rewarding journey. When I’m not in the classroom, I love caring for my indoor plants or getting lost in a good book. I’m truly excited to be part of this wonderful team, and I can’t wait to make each day special together!

Welcome to our art classroom! I am thrilled to join Luella Merrett as the art teacher. With a passion for fostering creativity and independent thinking, I bring years of experience as an elementary art educator. My teaching philosophy is centered around empowering students to make their own artistic choices and explore their unique creative processes while learning about art history and aesthetic concepts.I love seeing students’ excitement as they take ownership of their artmaking, whether we’re exploring portraits inspired by Frida Kahlo or getting creative with movement like Keith Haring.

Outside the classroom, I’m a lifelong learner, constantly learning and exploring learning. I'm in the final semester of my master's degree in art education at TTU. In my spare time I also enjoy making my own art, especially painting, and spending time in nature, especially hiking! I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends. 

I look forward to a fun and creative year ahead!
