Ms. Denisse Martinez

My name is Denisse Martinez, and I am excited to be the 4th Grade teacher at Luella Merrett. In our classroom, we love to learn, have fun, and work together while creating a meaningful learning environment for everyone. I am a proud FWISD graduate, and I am thrilled to be back in the district that helped shape my education. I look forward to a year filled with growth, success, and unforgettable experiences. It is going to be a fantastic year!

Mi nombre es Denisse Martinez y estoy muy emocionada de ser la maestra de Cuarto Grado en Luella Merrett. En nuestro salón de clases, nos encanta aprender, divertirnos y trabajar juntos mientras creamos un ambiente de aprendizaje significativo para todos. Me gradue de FWISD y estoy muy feliz de regresar al distrito que formó parte de mi educación. Espero compartir un año lleno de aprendizaje, éxito y momentos inolvidables. ¡Será un año sensacional!

Mr. Swade Hix

 Mr Hix is excited to be a fourth-grade teacher and to help students develop a love of learning. He graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU), where he earned his degree and built a strong foundation for his career in education.

Before entering the classroom, Mr. Hix proudly served in the United States Army. His military service taught him the importance of leadership, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. He brings those values into his classroom each day, encouraging students to work hard, overcome challenges, and always do their best.

Mr. Hix believes that every student can succeed when they are supported, challenged, and inspired. He enjoys creating engaging learning experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. When he is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs.

He looks forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, and success with his fourth-grade students!

Ms. Jessyca Guzman

My name is Ms. Guzman, and I am so excited to be part of our school community! I have been an educator since 2021 and have had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th grade.

I have a passion for helping students grow academically while also building their confidence and love for learning. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, encouraged, and comfortable being themselves. In my classroom, students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, try again, and celebrate their growth. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels valued, capable, and excited to learn.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, being creative, and learning new things. I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and lots of great memories!
